Here are the images from Peru’s most challenging hike from our trip: nearly 4 hours round-trip, covering about 4.3 miles (7 km) up to 16,732 feet (5,100 m). The climb itself wasn’t the hardest part—it was the thin air at that altitude that made every step a battle. We were able to make it since we had already spent a few days acclimatizing in Cusco at around 11,000 feet, see Cusco images here, and after the Inca Trail Trek here.
