Welcomed the New Year in Kanab, Utah

So we went out to Southern Utah to welcome 2019.  One of the main goals for us to make this trip was to hike the famous Wave located in the Coyote Buttes permitted area.  These lands are permitted by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) which is a federal agency; and unfortunately for us, the BLM was not issuing permits during this time due to the infamous shutdown.  I came across this sign at the closed visitor center:

Sadly, we did not do the Wave hike and we went about visiting other non-permitted areas near Kanab – including day trips to Zion and Bryce national Parks as well as local hikes.  This will be a great excuse for coming back and I will be back!  We did Peek-a-boo Canyon (a nice alternative to the much more crowded Antelope Canyon), and other local hikes as well.  Mostly, I used my Fujifilm X100F and to a lesser extent I also used the X-T2 with either the 16mm 1.4 or the 35mm 2.0.  Some of the Bryce Canyon NP photos were taken with the Auto Sears 55mm 1.4 adapted to the X-T2.
